السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Alhamdulilah I have only just returned back from my trip to Palestine with Forgotten Lands and I’m already missing the warmth of the Palestinian hospitality. The people of palestine took us in as if we were one of there own. this was everyone from the staff at the hotel who Looked after us day and night, to the people of the old city who smiled at us as we walked passed, greeting us to their land. The hotel we stayed at was the closest to Masjid al Aqsa, about 2,500 steps there and back by my calculation. The walk to the masjid took you back in time, as you walk down the old cobbled road with the smell of fresh bread and falafel in the air. The trips we took around Palestine made the trip so much deeper than just staying in the old city, and I felt as though it gave me a more holistic view of the situation in palestine and the immense history that it contains. I have to thank our Shayk nazim for looking after us all, and making it a trip I’ll never forget. Palestine I will be Back In Sha Allah, and I hope for it to be with the forgotten lands family!
